GO BIG OR ADD JUST A POP OF GREEN
Pantone's color of the year Greenery is a timely reminder of the beauty of nature and the importance of bringing the outdoors in. Go big, add a splash, or simply a pop of color.
In a design world dominated by beiges, greys, and whites, it is important to remember nature's neutral: Green. This year's Pantone color of the year reminds us of the splendor that is all around us in the natural world, and asks us to keep with the trend of bringing the outdoors in, all year long (even if we are feeling a little exhausted by everything that is happening in the world at large).
Fun fact: Since the year 2000 each Color of the Year choice has been a direct reflection of the cultural climate of that year.
Pantone's color choices are known have a major impact on design trends, from the runways of NYFW to interior decor, food, travel, architecture, list goes on. With great power comes great responsibility' and the taste makers at Pantone are not ones to shy away from
political commentary and reflecting upon & responding to the social issues of the day.
"We know what kind of world we are living in: one that is very stressful and very tense. This is the color of hopefulness, and of our connection to nature. It speaks to what we call the 're' words: regenerate, refresh, revitalize, renew. Every spring we enter a new cycle and new shoots come from the ground. It is something life affirming to look forward to." - The executive director of the Pantone Color Institute
